Why Do We Need To Volunteer?

To manage our Esplanade camp with a large frontage and a huge amount of infrastructure, and a kitchen that feeds 145 campers, we’ve calculated that the camp need each camper to contribute at least 7 volunteer hours in order to quite literally operate our camp on playa.
Separately, we need every camper to help with breakdown (which amounts of 8 hours of breakdown hours on paper), otherwise our camp won’t be able to make it out of playa. Please don’t leave us hanging.
None of it should feel like work because you will be spending time with your camp mates and getting involved in our community. It should be a ton of fun.

Select shifts that add up to the minimum 7 hours (+0.5 hours if you’re not staying for breakdown Monday)
1. Mon build crew is exempt from shifts. Wed build crew require 6 hours.
2. Please select 7 or 8 hours but no more than that for now, as we'd like to keep opportunities open for others. If more hours are available, we will reach out.
3. To unselect / clear your name, hit backspace / delete.
Select breakdown shifts that add up to at least 8 hours before you leave playa.
Please check the "Total Hours" sheet to see if you've met your hours requirements.

Please note that we might need to move shifts to ensure full coverage. We will communicate to make sure the new shifts are acceptable to you.

Missing a shift is a SERIOUS no-no.
If you missed your shift, you should immediately find a lead to schedule a make-up shift.
Missing shifts or not making up missed shifts will hurt your fellow campers and our camp, and you will not be welcome back next year. Please do your shifts.
