Why Do We Need To Volunteer?
- To manage our Esplanade camp with a large frontage and a huge amount of infrastructure, and a kitchen that feeds 145 campers, we’ve calculated that the camp need each camper to contribute at least 7 volunteer hours in order to quite literally operate our camp on playa.
- Separately, we need every camper to help with breakdown (which amounts of 8 hours of breakdown hours on paper), otherwise our camp won’t be able to make it out of playa. Please don’t leave us hanging.
- None of it should feel like work because you will be spending time with your camp mates and getting involved in our community. It should be a ton of fun.
Directions:
- Read the descriptions for the job roles (if you'd like more info on any teams, please the Wiki)
- Select shifts that add up to the minimum 7 hours (+0.5 hours if you’re not staying for breakdown Monday)
- Mon build crew is exempt from shifts. Wed build crew require 6 hours.
- Please select 7 or 8 hours but no more than that for now, as we'd like to keep opportunities open for others. If more hours are available, we will reach out.
- To unselect / clear your name, hit backspace / delete.
- Select breakdown shifts that add up to at least 8 hours before you leave playa.
- Please check the "Total Hours" sheet to see if you've met your hours requirements.
- Please note that we might need to move shifts to ensure full coverage. We will communicate to make sure the new shifts are acceptable to you.
Missing a shift?
- Missing a shift is a SERIOUS no-no.
- If you missed your shift, you should immediately find a lead to schedule a make-up shift.
- Missing shifts or not making up missed shifts will hurt your fellow campers and our camp, and you will not be welcome back next year. Please do your shifts.
